Sydney Contemporary 2017

Tim Klingender Fine Art will be exhibiting once more at Sydney Contemporary this September 2017. Australasia’s premier international art fair returns this year with the country’s largest and most diverse gathering of local and international galleries.

Taking place from 7 to 10 September 2017 (VIP Preview 6 September, opening night 7 September) throughout Carriageworks, the third edition celebrates five days of curated exhibitions and ambitious programming appealing to the serious collector, art lover and those curious about contemporary art.

INSTALLATION CONTEMPORARY

For the duration of Sydney Contemporary 2017, Tim Klingender Fine Art will also present works by three Yirrkala sculptors at Installation Contemporary, showcasing 15 contemporary Australian and International artists working across a range of mediums from painting and sculpture, drawing and ceramics, through to installation and video. Curated by Chief Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Rachel Kent and Assistant Curator Megan Robson, Installation Contemporary presents an exhibition of ambitious and large-scale artworks throughout the Carriageworks precinct.

Works include a suite of 14 larrakitj – memorial poles with ancestral significance in the creation of salt and freshwater landscapes and the cosmology belonging to the Wanjgurri and Daṯiwuy clans, Yirrkala, North East Arnhem Land, various heights (199-255 cm) and two sculptures from the Djapu clan, depicting Mäna (shark).
